Claude and Inus Perry Obits

Bro. C. C. Perry was born February 7, 1888. Departed this life October 18, 1951, at the Fermin Desloge Hospital at St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 63 years, 8 months, 11 days.

He was united in marriage to Ida Fox, who preceded him in death. To this union four children were born, Pearl and Opal, deceased. Those surviving are Mrs. Ruby Byrd of St. Louis, Missouri and Mr. Jewell Perry of St. Louis, Missouri.

January 26, 1920, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Inus Rogers. Of this union, besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his passing, Harold, of Leachville, Arkansas; Gilbert of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; Mrs. Marie martin of Frisbee, Missouri; James W. Perry of Flint, Michigan, Claude Blane Perry of Broseley, Missouri; Mrs. Evelyn Mays, Kennett, Missouri; one brother, Willie Perry of Poe, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Wright of Holcomb, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; one great grand child; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bro. Perry was converted and baptized and united with the Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church, he had not been converted long until the church chose him to be ordained to the office of Deacon. By the Hopewell General Baptist Presbytery, July 12, 1934. He served the church faithful in this capacity until he moved to Butler County, after moving to Butler County, he joined the Browns Chapel General Baptist Church and continued as a Deacon. He served his church faithfully until God called him home. It could be said of Bro. Perry, “He was a good man, full of the Holy Ghost.”

Funeral services for Mrs. Inus Seana Perry, 601 Lester, Kennett, will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First General Baptist Church. Rev. James Henry Dortch will officiate assisted by Rev. Winford Henry. Burial will be in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery at Broseley. McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett will be in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of the late George and Emma Crisp Blane, she was born March 21, 1891 in Model, Tenn. She was married to Alfred H. Rogers who preceded her in death. She later married Claude C. Perry, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Perry died Tuesday at the Dunklin County Memorial Hospital at the age of 80.

She was a charter member of the First General Baptist Church in Kennett.

Survivors include four sons, Harrald E. Rogers, Gilbert (Jake) Rogers, James W. Perry and Claude B. Perry, all of Flint, Mich.; one step-son, Jewel C. Perry, Daytona Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Ira (Marie) Martin, Holcomb and Mrs. John (Evelyn) Mays, Kennett; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Bennett and Mrs. Millie Bodine, both of Flint; 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
