Tool Boxes

The photo below shows the rear compartment (“tub”) of my truck.

Since I don’t anticipate passengers in the back, I’ll remove the two bench seats and replacement them with a couple of custom pads that can be inserted if needed (below)

While I don’t plan to keep a lot of junk in my truck, a couple of tool boxes might be handy and I’m thinking I’d like to place them where the bench seats are now. I was thinking simple metal boxes with a small padlock.

But a friend suggested some nice wooden boxes, maybe with brass fittings. Much quieter and attractive. These would be bolted to wheel well as shown in the diagram. Carriage bolts would allow me to put these in and take them out without assistance. Probably want some kind of rubberized material on the bottom of the box, against the metal bench surface.
