Why shouldn’t we have the option of signing a little form that says: ONLY FIRST CLASS MAIL IN MY BOX?

Steve, you’re a wild man. I don’t know if this will end the deluge of junk mail, but I wonder if privately rented mailboxes get the same junk mail?
I don’t even know where you would go to rent a private mailbox in this town. Probably The UPS Store.
You would have (more) control of who knows your address, unless UPS sells it out, of course. (And why wouldn’t they, it’s a money-maker for them.)
There are ways to stop unwanted junk mail. http://www.ecocycle.org/junkmail/index.cfm
It does require much effort, but could someday bring the reward of coming home to an empty mailbox.
And yes, there is a form at the USPS to stop junk mail.
Personally, I hope you continue to receive the junk mail, because my life would be that much more dull if I couldn’t hear you whine about it!
