How strong were the winds during Wednesday night’s storm in St. Louis? Somebody grabbed this little video clip with their cell phone or camera.
I love that there are millions of folks walking around with the ability to record…everything. And, more importantly, share what they capture. I would say “with everyone” but someone would remind me there are millions of poor people and villagers that don’t have access to the Internet (and a bunch of U. S. Senators that don’t know how to use it). So, let’s just say “share it with a lot of people.”

It was even worse than that. The storm flipped over the Fox Sports Midwest TV desk and made mincemeat of the set, it took three guys to hold the door of the suite closed. The wind deposited a ton of dust in the air before the storm even hit and while they were putting the tarp on the field, it literally lifted the guys holding the tarp off the ground. I thought the tarp would end up on the other side of the river. The storm tipped over 18 wheelers on two bridges over the Mississippi and the other one closed down because it was littered with bricks from a building downtown. I grew up on a farm and I have NEVER seen anything like it. I was at the game and I felt relly bad for the parents with kids, where do you go and where do you hide? Just as we were getting back to normal here in St. Louis, we got hit again today. It is estimated that over HALF of the 2.8 million that live here are without power. Traffic has turned into gridlock with no stoplights and there are few gas stations that have any power. Ice is gold and is in big demand. It’s quite amazing what has happened here. I am one of the lucky ones, my power never went out. this is a mini Katrina and it may be weeks before we return to normal. Thought you should know.
