When I hear a really good speaker at a memorial service I can’t help wondering what will be said about my life once it’s over. It hasn’t been that interesting or exemplary. So here’s an alternative.
Average funeral costs about $10,000 in the US but I’m going for cremation which can be as low as $3,000 if you work directly with the crematory. Let’s say I save $7,000 and put in another 3K for an even ten grand. Then hire someone like Ron Rocheleu of Concrete TV or Mike Relm to do a mash-up from clips pulled from my YouTube channel.
Some funeral homes will produce (probably outsourced) a video but I’m after something far edgier. What do you think? Could this be a business for some creative young videographer?
